Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by. I live in sunny Alberta, Canada. I have been married to a wonderful man, Wayne, for 25 years. We met when we both worked for CN rail. I retired from railroading when my son was born and my husband is still working on the railway! Our son, Garrett, is now 22 and attending the University of Calgary, we have been empty nesters for 4 years now. My late Grandmother is the person who inspired me the most. She was a lady of simple means that lived on the farm, grew an enormous garden, baked the most delicious bread and grew the most beautiful flowers. I am also an artist, and have converted a bedroom into an art studio, my sanctuary. I specialize in decorative painting, but dabble in all kinds of mediums. My studio is a reflection of me, from my collection of art supplies, photo props, crafting material, to my 1976 stereo with vinyl records of my favourite music. I love to create beautiful things and have a ton of projects waiting to get done. I also have a food blog “Art and the Kitchen” where I share my culinary adventures. This blog reflects the artist, gardner, photographer, crafter and decorator in me. Hope you enjoy my journey of sharing beautiful reflections of life.
